This hike provides a great opportunity to view the erosional forces from wind and rain in the desert on a short beautiful hike in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area along a wash to the Anniversary Narrows. The hike is about 2.5 miles each way starting from about 1,675 feet reaching to about 2,000 feet to reach the Narrows. Along the way you will be able to view the remains of the Anniversary Mine which was in operation from 1922 to 1928. Upon entering the Narrows you will marvel the smooth walls caused by wind and flash floods over thousands of years. You will then experience the Narrows for about another tenth of a mile. Some times of year water can be found in the Narrows requiring you to be very careful navigating the smooth walls or you might have to take off your shoes to keep them from getting wet.
The hike should take about 1.5 hours to reach the Narrows, 1 hour to look around and explore, and then another hour to return for a total of about 3.5 to 4 hour hike.
