Normally Las Vegas has over 300,000 people who visit for New Years. Although, due to the COVID pandemic, about 200,000 people visited. That number is still quite high considering the virus is working hard to find a peak of infection. We'll never know the number of people who visited who will not see February, 2021.
The crowds were quite a contradiction to the empty New York Times Square. Quite a risk to get out and party!
I propped my camera on the frame of the sunroof as I drove down The Strip. I took pictures without aiming properly since I was keeping my eye on the road. Some pictures were taken when stopped in traffic.
The amount of traffic was similar to a normal day on The Strip, but less than normal for this time of year. After this big celebration, The Strip will be quiet until probably the middle of March due to warmer weather, spring break, Easter, vaccine distribution, and people fed up with the virus.
I took a lot of photos because I wanted to document history.
